She was making cookies one day when she ran of nuts. She used pieces of baking chocolate instead, and Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies were born.

Sugar cookies came about in the 1700’s. German protestant settlers in Pennsylvania discovered them and they were a huge hit from the start. In fact, in the early part of the 2000’s, the sugar cookie was established in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as being their official cookie.

Not much is known about the history and origin of the snickerdoodle cookie. What is known, however, is that it is often seen around the holidays, especially Christmas. Snickerdoodles are sugar cookies with a twist- they are sprinkled with cinnamon before they are baked.

Peanut butter cookies came to light in the early part of the 1900’s, which is when peanut butter became a popular kitchen staple.
