Trying your hand at vaping? Here are a few things you need to know if you’re taking up vaping.
It’s a battery-operated inhaler. An e-cigarette is designed with a battery and a cartridge, which is widely called a tank, that houses an atomizer. The atomizer vaporizes the liquid.
In e-cigarettes, the e-liquid is heated to generate vapor, which is then inhaled like smoke. That process, where you inhale vapor, is called vaping.
The e-liquid is responsible for the flavor you get when you vape. A cartridge of e-liquid or e-juice is made up of diluted nicotine along with propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and flavorings, says USA Today.
VG vs PG
It’s difficult to know what ratio will work best for you. Depending on your personal taste, you could go for a higher PG or VG content. Higher PG levels create the ‘throat hit’ effect. For richness of flavor and vapor, opt for higher VG levels instead. Try each one out to see which option suits you the most.
Depending on your smoking preferences, you might either have to go for as much as 16 mg of nicotine—if you’re a heavy smoker—and then switch to lower nicotine levels as you go.
When it comes to flavors, you won’t have to worry about lack of choices. There are a slew of options to choose from. You’ll have a great time exploring different flavors, and discovering ones you really like. Just remember to switch those flavors out. Too much of a flavor could diminish the flavor for you.
Given all the new things you’ll have to learn, vaping could seem like a daunting task. However, with a little research, planning, and foresight, it won’t be long before you find yourself enjoying the switch.
